Since this article was published, Egger et al. have developed a nomogram to correct mortality estimates for loss to follow-up. It gives a correction factor based on the percentage of patients lost to follow-up at a given point in time, and the estimated ratio of mortality between patients lost and not lost to follow-up. The mortality observed among patients retained in care is then multiplied by the correction factor to obtain an estimate of programme-level mortality, with 95% confidence intervals. http://www.plosmedicine.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pmed.1000390
Well.. Yeah, condoms is big topics for discussion. Not many men like them and due to this fact AIDS is spreading that fast. Many other contraceptive "protect" couple from having a kid but not protecting from AIDS. Irresponsibility of this kind of people causes unbelieveable death rate caused by AIDS. I beleive that government should pay more attention to this problem and show more social ads about AIDS at TV, night shows, banners, news paper and any other social media. In the other hand people should promote healthy way of living by their own. They can share experience with each other by discussions, sharing problems, sharing photos and movies about AIDS, should talk to children about sex and contraceptive and why they are so important. Not only because of protecting of pregnancy but also from having AIDS. I saw one guy who promote his way of living. He works, have a kid and a wife, doing sports, like photography and arts. He used to be a doctor and helped people to control their disease. Now he quit because of stress at his previous work. He helps to choose a digital camera at big local store now. However - he has a blog about people with AIDS and how they die. He claims that 73% of them can't controll their disease because of lack of medicine. I beleive - using condoms is much easier than fighting with such a disease. In any case - you can trust your beloved person but you never know who he had sex with before. So, be wise, use condoms
After discussing this aspect for early treatment and the fact that I am only eleven months infected. My viral load jumped from 700 in december 2008 to 20,400 in October this year. My question to my doctor was if in basic medicen you are always recommended to treat before the simptoms get worse. But with HIV you are told to waite until it is bad before treating. I believe that a level of counter preduction is in play with the heading of diverse side efects on anitviral treatment. It seems basic that the body is exposed to greater side effects if the precious CD4 tCELLS are reduced significently. Where can information on this area of research be found. thanking all thomas
My son is HIV positive and has no immunity to chickenpox, every year he gets it and in the worst senarios has been diagnosed as having chicken pox on his arms and legs and measles on his torso. If the school informs me quickly enough I can take him to be vacinated and he remains well. I am extremely interested in any comments of experience in mainly childhood sicknesses and the effect HIV has on them. I also am interested in knowing if HIV children non-disclosed are more likely to be challenging in thier behavior- distructive and obusive???? Henry from Scotland
